How To Place An Order:

When making an enquiry, please let us know the number of people you need to feed, the theme/design you'd like and the date you have in mind. This will enable us to give you a more precise quote and check we have availability. PLEASE ALWAYS CHECK YOUR SPAM/JUNK FOLDER FOR OUR REPLY.

How do I make payment?

There are various ways to pay :

Online bank transfer - using your online banking service it's easy to make a payment, just ask us for our account details. 

Cheque -  Easy to do by post or drop it into us in person at a pre-arranged time. Please ensure your card number and expiry date are written clearly on the back of the cheque.

Cash - You are more than welcome to visit us and pay in cash at a pre-arranged time.

Paypal  -  Taking any credit/debit card, American Express or registered bank account (please note that there is an extra small charge for this).

Do you have a shop where I can see or buy cakes?

We are a home bakery and all our cakes are made-to-order (we don't stock any pre-made cakes). Visits to The Little Cake Box are by arrangement only. 

How much notice do you need for a cake order?

Our diary gets booked up quickly, often months in advance, so please place your order in plenty of time to avoid disappointment. Depending on how full the diary is we can sometimes accommodate a short-notice order. Please get in touch to check for availability.

For wedding cakes, please contact us as early as possible as dates are booked up to 2 years in advance sometimes. Occassionally we can make wedding cakes at shorter notice depending on our availability.

Do I need to pay a deposit, and if so, when?

A 50% non-refundable deposit will secure a date in the diary for all occasion cakes and confirms your order. The final balance is required one week prior to collection/delivery of the cake. If your cake is a short-notice booking (i.e. less than 14 days), we ask for the full amount at the time of booking. We can't hold a date for you without a deposit/payment.
For wedding cakes, we require a deposit of 50% when placing the order, and then the final balance of 50% one month before your wedding date.  Your cake is not booked unless a deposit has been paid. If you wish to secure a date for your wedding before coming for a consultation then a non-refundable £100 deposit can be paid. This will then be deducted from your final payment once the design and cost has been discussed.

Can I come for a wedding consultation / tasting?

A consultation and cake tasting can be arranged by appointment. Working with you, we will provide samples in flavours you are considering for your wedding cake (up to 4 flavours). In preparation for your consultation we ask you please to have your venue and date confirmed and have some ideas on your theme/colours and number of guests so that we can design a cake perfectly suited to you and your day. Ideally booking an appointment with us 4 – 6 months before your wedding. (Late appointments are sometimes available).

Can you set-up my cake and display table?

Of course, it would be our pleasure to provide this service, and we even have some cake stands you could hire.  Just contact us to ask about pricing.  

How do I look after the cake?

Full, written storage instructions will be provided with every order. 



What are the delivery costs?

We can deliver your cake within Canterbury for £4. We may, depending on availability be able to deliver further afield at an additional cost. 

Do you cater for customers with allergies?

Some of our cakes can be made without gluten. Please enquire for more details. We provide a written list of allergens with each order so you know what your cake contains.
